February news update

We have lift off!!

At last, our first delivery happened on the 9th October 2007, and FareShare is now all systems go! We experienced a hugely successful launch on the 8th November, and received a great deal of media coverage from the local television, radio, and newspapers during this time.

Over 97 tonnes of food

We our proud to inform you that since our launch, FareShare in Bristol has received over 97 tonnes of food from our food partners, which to name a few include: Yeo Valley; Sainsbury’s; Kraft; Gerber Juice and apetito.

We have delivered over 38 tonnes of food, 34% being fruit, fruit juices and vegetable products to 24 organisations. These comprise hostels, supported housing and day centres which service homeless and vulnerable people throughout Bristol.

Since our launch we have employed 56 volunteers, including six drivers and three forklift truck operators.

Expansion

One of our next tasks is to expand our Community Food Network membership, so that our services can benefit as many organisations as possible. If you are interested in finding out more about the food service or volunteer/work placement opportunities, please contact us.
